Razor Get Ready To Launch a Gaming Smartphone

Razor presented Wednesday its Razer phone, a phone that clearly points to the players. It is equipped with the first 120Hz Ultramotion screen in the world, offering fast refresh rates and the smoothest graphics on a mobile smartphone.

"It is known that I'm obsessed with my smartphone, I play many games and they are my choice for delivering content," said Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan.

"We wanted to make a mobile phone with gaming technology for years and the Razer phone has everything we can imagine," he said.

Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 mobile platform, the Razer phone has 8GB of RAM. The thermal design reduces acceleration to maximize the performance and performance of the phone. It comes with Google's Android Nougat, but will support Android Oreo when the new operating system comes out in the spring of next year. It also comes with Nova Launcher Prime with the integration of Google Assistant. He is ready for selfie, with two 12 MB reverse camcorders.

Because players are their target market, the Razer phone also offers a 5.72-inch IGZO Quad HD LCD and a Dolby Atmos front speaker with two special amplifiers. It has a THX certified USB-C adapter with a 24-bit digital audio converter for use with audio-visual hearing aids.

The Razer phone gets enough power from its 4000 mAh battery to get along and provides clear images and sound in the cinema, according to the company. In addition, you can enable Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ for quick download so users can take action again.

The Razer phone with the iconic three-thread snake logo is now available for pre-order for a $ 699.99 retail price.

Razer has partnered with various gaming companies, including Tencent and Square Enix, to develop content that takes advantage of what the hardware has to offer.

Among the announced titles are the Razer Phone Final Fantasy XV Square Enix Pocket Edition, Eden Games Gear.Club, Bandai Namco Tekken and World of Tanks Blitz or Wargame Group Limited.

"Razer wants to use the trend towards more basic mobile experiences and has developed a product that appeals to a small part of the gamers who like the idea of a phone with a high refresh rate screen. Larger battery and active cooling, which is more useful, "said Piers Harding-Rolls, Director of Game Research at IHS Markit.

"However, I think the audience is a niche for a high end gaming phone, especially when compared to other smartphones," he told TechNewsWorld.

"The Razer phone is a great opportunity to optimize a gaming smartphone," says Steve Blum, senior analyst at Tellus Venture Associates.

"It would not be particularly attractive to non-players, but it would not necessarily separate them," he said to TechNewsWorld. "It's mostly a phone." Razer took a standard Android phone with a standard high-end processor and modified it with a better screen and better audio processing.

Given the size of the market and not to mention that most smartphones are already compatible with many popular casual games, it is doubtful that hardcore gamers will pay a premium for the Razer phone.

"It's an optimization exercise, not a new product," said Blum.

"It would be very interesting if Razer did something radical, like a mobile-specific graphics chip, but they are not part of this league," he said.

A good alternative to Razer Phone's revenue potential is the participation of gametablets in global tablet sales, a market in which Razer has integrated, suggested Harding-Rolls.

"The other players in this sector are Nvidia with their Shield tablet," he said.

None of these game-specific products were sold in large quantities and many were eventually discontinued.

"It will be interesting to see if Samsung or Huawei or another major consumer electronics company wants to work hard for the video game industry: they will keep an eye on Razer," said Blum.

In the meanwhile, Razer has to do everything to succeed.

"Razer enters a highly competitive market where deep bags are needed and where profits are often difficult to achieve," said Harding-Rolls. "Overall, I think Razer is facing a major commercial challenge to influence this device."
